Was going through a rough patch in life (still at it though. Hoping for things to imprve), and I am still busy with work. Just finished an exam. This long weekend proved to be an good one, with a lot of time to myself at home for a rest and curl up with some DVDs. And I had the time to try out my clay modeling skills - end product: earstuds! There are no replicas, as each one is hand made, so no two are exact. Hope you like them..

I think I need to improve my photography skills! At least this picture below is really one of the clearer ones...

These are the swirls (without glitters) collection. Instead of using glittery glaze, I have used clear glaze instead. This collection are basically a combination of two colors intertwined together. No two piece have the exact swirls....

PS: I think I should be able to customise this range. You may choose the colors that you want, e.g. green with yellow, and choose if you want glitters or not. Just that you will need to wait about a week to two weeks for your orders to arrive, as I will need to buy the color that you want, mould it, bake it, glaze it, and send it by snail mail... For customised ones, it'll be an additional of S$2.00 / pair.

This pair is made of polymer clay beads made by me, using the lentil zebra technique. It has a unique swirl of blue, light purple and a dash of red. It is very difficult to get two exact beads of the same size and swirl, and this makes the earrings special, since you can be sure that no one will have the same thing as you. Decorated simply with a pair of cupid charms, this pair is truely one of a kind.

Aftermath of LIME

Hi All,
It has been a really hot day last saturday at the LIME flea market. I had shared a booth with a really talented lady - she buys doll figurines and knits their wedding gowns~! And of cuz, there's a matching bridegroom to match it. And she knits dresses for teddy bears too. Really talent Auntie Sharon~

Business that day was so-so, probably due to the hot weather and the market trend there. Most ppl were selling 2nd hand goods at a really low price that I was also tempted to buy something! 2nd hand Zara / Mango tops @ S$2, Hush Puppy bag @ S$3 and some of those singlets in the sale baskets can go as low as 3pcs for S$5~! But still, it was a great time for I was able to spend the day with my bf.. Thanks dear~! And I met a nice lady who encouraged me to join the MAAD, which I was already contemplating for some time.... Maybe I should really just go for it...

And last Sunday after lunch, I stumbled along a shop with a really friendly shopkeeper. To be frank, I had bought 2pcs of polymer clay 2 weeks back, and was looking for a cheap oven to start making my own clay beads. I had did some research, but no classes taken, cuz they always seems so expensive. And to think that on sunday, I found a shop that sells many many brands of clays that I have been looking for, and they had a slot for a class on this coming sunday to teach on lentil beads making~! Exactly what I was looking for, and at an affordable price! And it is just apt that I had just swopped my tuition class from sunday to saturday. =) So if the beads making session is sucessfully, I will get an oven straight away to start my new hobby~ *smiles*

Oh yes, the next bazaar coming up - NUS Bazaar on 11 and 12 Oct tentatively... TBC, but should be going.... =)

This is a simple yet intricate on its own. Simple as it is made of a gold filigree and a red flower embossed Japanese glass bead, but intricate as the design of the beads are very intrinsic, and the gold filigree complements the bead just nicely.

I stumbled upon the beads during one of my leisure "Exploring Singapore" time with my bf, and I only have 4pcs of the beads. This cannot be found at my usual beads supplies store, thus making this pair a limited edition...

PS: Due to the lighting of the environment, this photo is really not doing any justice to the earrings. But I feel that this pair is really lovely.

My Jewellery Case will be @ LIME Flea Market on 22 Sept, 1 - 7pm, which is located at the open area beside Cineleisure, Orchard. This will be MJC's 4th bazaar / flea market, and I am really thrilled about it.
My mum has been busy making jewellery stands and cases for me (after she went for the last NTU bazaar with me on the first day), as she felt that the stands and cases will make storage and transportation easier for me.

Each side had a tear drop Swarovski cystal, accompanied by 4mm Swarovskis along the cascading chains.

If you have been following My Jewellery Case since its first post, you will realise that this is the first time that beaded flowers appear on this website... All this flower brooches are hand made with wiring techniques and seed beads, and you may choose to have them in any colors as they are not pre-made. However, if you happen to choose a color that I don't have any beads on hand, I'll need your kind understanding to give me a few days to make a trip to the supplies store to buy the beads and to make the item....

Oh yes, you can even request to use swarovski crystals instead at a nominal fee...

This is a 8-petal flower brooch which I really liked. My mum wanted me to make them into clip on earrings for her (which will look big on the ears, but she likes things big and bold), and my father was telling me that I should make it into a hair clip.

Gearing Up For the NTU event..

More updates for this week... It's great that I am not working for the whole of this week due to plant shut down, and this extra week gave me the luxury of time to work on my hobby - jewellery making, and at the same time, gearing up for the 3 days event @ NTU (15 - 17 Aug 2007)

At the NTU bazaar, I will be selling facial masks as well at a lower than market price for the standard box, and also, I will be selling them by per piece. I was tired of having to buy a box of masks and then only to find that they are not suitable for me. Thus, I came up with the idea of selling them individually for the good of everyone.. This is really a design that I am proud of. It has a really majestic feel, due to the blend of multicoated Swarovskis and gold....

Faux pearls encapsulated by gold floral end caps, framed with gold chains, and the intricate corners are filled with 4mm deep blue Swarovskis, and finally end of with a matching Swarovski teardrop.

Hi All,

I am glad to announce that I will be having a bazaar booth for the third time~! This time, it'll be @ NTU from 15 - 17 Aug 2007, 10am - 5pm. Hope to see you there....

It has been some time since I have been updating my blog. Thanks to everyone who has shown their concern and has patiently waited for the updates. My apologies to all... I have just enrolled myself for a 8-month CPIM course (related to my work) which is twice a week in the evening, and thus for the rest of the week, I had to stay back in office later to accomplish my work. It has been very tiring, but fulfilling.

At the same time, I have just finish customising a pair of earrings for a colleague, which she liked it a lot. Which this also gave me a sense of satisfaction to see that she actually like my creation... I will be uploading the photo of the pair which I did for her, just to share my joy with everyone.

Then I will be busy now with the NTU fair, and then I have already gotten some request from my Malay colleague, who has requested for me to make some booches for her during Hari Raya. Excited, as this is my first attempt at booches.. Will keep you all updated...

This pair is made of a gold filigree as the centre piece, encrusted with green and yellow glass crystals. When I made this, I thought that one of my friend /customer / colleague would like this, so I had emailed the photo to her. As guessed, she liked it and bought it the very same day. My mother had choosen these square metal beads. Initially I had a hard time thinking of what to do with them, but in the end, I decided to let them hang simply down, as I felt that the details of the beads are intricate enough to stand out on their own. The beads have the same design on both sides (i.e. when you flip over, the same design is there, not just a blank metal face). I personally feel that this is a unique pair for the working class ladies...

For those who have been following my site since the start, you might realise that recently I am slowly moving from aryclic beads / charms to Swarovski crystals. Somehow, I am slowly attracted to them for their clarity and quality. I love the way they shine when light falls on them.

This pair below is a really simple yet attractive pair. Some of us may have found the Swarovski stars familar (I have seen them used as necklaces on their own), and this time, I am using them as the centre piece for the below earrings. This is another pair which I have painstakingly worked on. I have stuck glass crystals at the corners & centre of the square filigrees and laquerred them to ensure that they will stay onto the filigree firmly (The drying process took about one day). Then after some exploration, I have combined the filigrees to the white round charms with marine green 8mm Swarovski crystals to come up with this piece...

This is a really simple pendant, which I have gotten 2pcs, and both have already found their owners. I gave one of them to my colleague as a farewell gift, who have decided to seek her career elsewhere. The other one was bought by another colleague, who liked it alot seeing the one that I gave to the first colleague.

Initially I wanted to keep one for myself, which I think I will still get some more for the upcoming NTU fair. This is the frosted version, and there is one more which the heart is a clear glass. The single crystal on the heart is actually a Swarovski stud as well. No promises for this one, but will need to check with the supplier if they are still available. *cross my fingers as I wanted a frosted one for myself too*

This is the one which I had customised for my colleague for a dinner event that she is attending this weekend. She had choosen gold with red, and she was given the choice of arcylics or swarovski. She did give me a photo of something which she had wanted so I did some modification and came up with this one....

She felt that the above was too simply, and after taking into consideration some comments from my sister, the colleague, etc, I came up with the below, aka the final design.

I got this locket some time back (if you recall in my earlier posts), but I didn't get the chance to post it up till now.
Instead of just having it plain, I have added some white acrylic rings along the chain in an assymmetric manner, and an arylic tusk to go along with the locket. A black chain was added to it to give it some texture as well. The locket can be opened and you can put in a photo of you and your loved ones...

This piece is named 'For the Demure Lady' as it was customised for my mummy's lady friend. She had requested for something small, and red in color. My mummy says that she is quite a modern lady despite her age and she can really dress up very nicely. She is a petite lady, thus the reason for something not too dangling. I have added gold caps to it and instead of the usual "question mark" hooks, I have used these hooks that have a closure (PS: These hooks are more expensive than the usual ones) so that she can safely move about with them during her dance classes.

It's been some time since I have last posted my new creations online.

I've been tied up with work, giving tuition, driving lessons *wish me all the best for my test~*, shopping, spending time with him, etc.... This GSS had been maxing out my card, but I have gotten myself 2 new pairs of shoes, a handbag, a jacket, and a soon to come MP3 player.... =)

I have a few designs that I want to work on, but sometimes, when I want to embark on a complicated project (for e.g. those that will take me a few hrs), I will need to have enough time to work on it. Thus I don't like to work on those on weekday nights, cuz I feel so bushed after work. I am thinking of making a long string of multi color seed beads with big colored glass (inspired by what I saw @ a vintage store). Will post online once ready.

When I saw the strawberries glass beads, I liked them a lot, but I did not have any idea what to do with them. I was contemplating if I should buy them on impulse, and I did~! (PS: They are glass, so it costed me quite a bit) I wanted something simple for these as the beads are attractive enough on its own. So I put them together with the jagged rings, and voila~!

I was inspired by my new colleague who is into chunky necklaces, and thus came up with this creation, especially when I saw the new beads that were available from my supplier.
The length of this necklace is adjustible as it is satin ribbon tied, decorated by the contrasting bronze and white (notice the gold trails on the white beads?) and finally set with a gold pendant..

The charms and beads have never been used before in any of My Jewellery Case's designs. A lot of things have been going on in my life right now, thus I was kinda tied up with all those events right now. I hope that I can bring some balance back to my life, and off cuz, this includes coming up with new creations, as this is really one of my fav pastime...

A simple pair of pink roses with a tear-drop shaped swarovski crystal hanging down each end. The cheerfulness of the pink flower adds to a contrast to the crystal clear droplet, making in a simple yet attractive pair.

This pair is named as "Chiyo-Chan" as it was inspired by the character Sayuri in "Memoirs of a Geisha". I did not watch the movie, but I am currently reading the book. A very good read indeed... Chiyo-Chan was the original name of Sayuri (acted by Zhang Ziyi), and Chiyo-Chan was an innocent and simple girl in the village.
This pair of earrings is a simple piece, centered by an expensive Japanese glass bead. A translucent glass bead decors the top, just before the Jap glass.

P.S: In case you think that this pair is expensive though simple, it's due to the price of the Jap glass beads. This pair is a pair of clip ons (For myself, cuz I have really thin ear lobes); you may request for the normal hook types. For this pair, there is no ready stocks as I did not buy any extra Jap glass (to costly to keep much!), but you may do a pre-order and I can go get the beads during that weekend...

I am finally updating my site again~ It has been a week after the Flea Market @ Scape, and I had a great time mending the stall with my bf.

Things have gotten more hectic at work (I reached home @ 9pm just now), and when I want to update last night, my internet connection just won't work! Brrr....

One announcement here~ This will probably be my last update for this month as I will be holding a booth to sell my craft @ Scape Youth Park (beside Orchard Cineleisure) on 28 Oct 2006, Sat from 1 - 7pm. I am very excited about this, although this is the second time I am having a booth during a fair. One of the highlights of my flea market booth will be the "Sentiments" series of ear studs, which is made of 45 different designs. On each stud will be a short message on a round background. It's been a busy week, both mentally and physically.
Busy @ work, worrying about my tuitee, coming up with new jewellery ideas, planning for a special event.... Oh yes, rollerblading on Sat was good... Went down Fort road from Mac not once, not twice, but thrice!! I'm loving it... =)

Today's update will be only partially new. Why did I say so? Cuz two of them are retakes of previous pairs as I thought the original pictures are not well-taken. So here they are....

Today was a very interesting day for me. My family and I went to the studio to get our family picture taken. It was a two-outfits photo shoot; one with the graduation gown and the other with an evening gown. Finally get to wear a gown with the Indie touch - a long flirty skirt and a diamondiate bikini halter. Whenever I pass by Serangoon Road where all the shops selling Indie wedding gowns are, I always tell my bf that I would like to wear one of those for my wedding in the future. But, hee.. I wore one today, and I am a satisfied girl. =)

Anyway, today's update contains a mixture of earrings, bracelet and necklace. High mix, low volume. Hope you like it.

Hi everyone,

Thank you to all of you out there who appreciates my work. I have received some feedbacks and and encouragement, and all that actually brightens up my day. It is really nice to know that there is someone out there who likes my work. Thank you to all, and I will continue to try my best to come up with new designs for you.

I will be posting up some more new designs soon, hopefully before the end of the week. And with the Mid Autumn festival coming up, I am in the mood for something traditional. I have a few ideas coming up here and there, so do be prepared for a batch of new designs made of precious stones such as rose quartz and jade bits, and colored floral beads with the eastern touch. And I am constantly reminded of those chinese swordplay movies where the actresses are donned with really simple yet demure accessories. But however, I will still come up with some designs where the east meets west, with chains and hoops as well. Oh yes, not to forget my all time favourite - butterflies...!!

Geezzz... I am getting all excited....

This is the first necklace that's being posted here. I wanted something different from the usual colors and beads, so I opted for something more mature, like the precious agate that was featured in this necklace.
Blue-black beads with a sequene at each of the ends, thick chains and the final touch of the agate at the side gave it a quirky edge. All I could say is that this is really something different from the usual.

When I came up with this bracelet, I wanted something punkish. Upon completion, the first thought about it was: pirates, hidden treasures, gold coins... Thus I named it after the recent movie "Pirates of the Carribeans".

There's only two pairs of this, and one of it is mine. Hee.. I wore mine during the chinese new year and got a lot of compliments, thus I have decided to replicate the design. Butterfly charms with 3 shades of purple arylic beads at different chain lengths.

My aunt was the one who came up with the idea of alternate colors at each side of the earring. Yet it can be seen that they belong to a set. This is a really creative manner, as oppose to my usual style of keeping things balanced.

The square glass bead has a silver lining coating the hole, and the baby pink and sky blue combination makes this a really sweet piece. (PS: This photo definitely is not doing the earrings any justice! The actual piece looks really sweet.... You know, glass beads usually look great. Anyway, concidentally, my sister's friend bought her a similar pair without the crystals for 8 Euros....)

My Thoughts and Feelings~

To set up a website to spread my jewellery creations has been my dream since 18 months ago. I had just cultivated the interest then, and was exploring with the various materials, techniques and designs. As time passes by, the collection grew larger and larger, and the thought of selling my creations came into my mind. At the same time, there was also a need to earn some income to sustain the purchases of new materials and equipments.

In July 2005, I had set up a stall with a friend at the NTU carnival, and it was a great success. From there, I had learnt to be more creative and bold in my designs. As such, this was how My Jewellery Case was set up.
